The Hunt.

Whitetail deer season is special to our family. I can remember cold mornings with a thermos full of Folgers coffee, the quiet rustling of gathering what we needed for the deer stand, the smell of the dirt and the fresh country air as we rode in the ATV to the deer stand.

If you aren’t from Texas, it’s hard to explain it without experiencing it. The sounds, the smells, the beautiful morning sun over the horizon. The waiting. The patience we learn. The meekness in our excitement when “that” buck we had been waiting on all season makes his appearance.

There’s life lessons learned. Stories shared at the camp fire. That early morning smell of bacon and burnt coffee is etched into our hearts and reminds of simpler times spent with people who care about.

Whitetail deer hunting is more than “the hunt.”

We’d love to hear your stories about whitetail peering hunting here in Texas. If you don’t have any or would like more, we’d love to invite you to The Sumbera Ranch.

We’d love to meet y’all and share a cup of coffee with you.
